A while back I managed to catch the demo of The Wandering Village, the simulation / strategy game from indie developer Stray Fawn Studio. Like many games available at the moment, you grow and develop a village, managing resources and production for your small society. This one has an added twist: your village lives on the back of a large, moving animal; an Onbu.
Where your Onbu travels will dictate what resources are available to you, what sort of biome you are in, and whether or not you encounter dangerous spores. As well as your villagers you will need to manage your Onbu; choosing whether you will guide it, care for it, or exploit it.

The Wandering Village has a charming artstyle – a combination of 2D and 3D and the Onbu itself is something I’m looking forward to seeing more of, when the game is released. We have no release date as yet, but all signs point to this year for this cute new management game
