Tiny Demo of Tiny Glade

Sitting firmly in the ‘relax and build things category, the demo of Tiny Glade from developer Pounce Light has hit the Steam store.

Grab a drink and a snack, and create a cute dwelling in the middle of the forest of your cottage-core dreams. The demo has a small build area and a limited number of options, but there’s still enough to get a handle on the mechanics and complete your first building accompanied by satisfying crumbly sounds. There’s a few options that aren’t immediately obvious as well: lower a roof height all the way down and it becomes crenellations, and deleting a wall of a building turns it into ruins.

Small pieces of building dressing  will also pop up as you build: maybe washing hanging out a window or a woodpile stacked up against the wall, which adds to the visuals without you doing too much work.

Controls are simple (though it did take me a couple of seconds to work out the doors!) and there’s a nice picture mode as well, so you can proudly share screenshots of your creation.

You can also select the time of day, or have time automatically move on, which is a nice touch – watching your building come alive with lights as the sun sets is very charming.

From watching some of the dev content, there’s a lot more you can do with Tiny Glade than this Tiny Demo, and I’m looking forward to exploring more when the full game releases later this year.
