Tilling the Competition: Farming Simulator 22 Cultivates New Multiplayer Modes
In an exciting twist to agrarian gameplay, GIANTS Software, the renowned developers of Farming Simulator 22, have made farming more competitive than ever. They have announced the addition of free, competitive multiplayer modes, Bale Stacking Mode and Arena Mode, to Farming Simulator 22 as part of their latest patch, 1.10, available on PC and consoles.
As part of the fun, up to six players can engage in the thrilling Bale Stacking Mode. This mode, initially a star attraction at international gaming events, offers the unique challenge of stacking square bales of straw on a trailer against the clock. The intense pace of this mode mirrors that of a high-performance bale press, a central feature in the Arena Mode. Players can access both new modes via the esports entry in the game’s main menu.
The Arena Mode, adapted from the professional Farming Simulator League (FSL), is designed to encourage strategic gameplay. In this mode, two teams of up to three players each compete to earn the highest score by harvesting wheat, pressing bales and delivering them to their barn. This team-based mode incorporates elements of unpredictability and tactical gameplay, including a pick & ban phase, random power-ups, and numerous strategic opportunities. For those new to the mode, a handy training feature allows players to familiarise themselves with the gameplay even when playing solo.
As Farming Simulator 22 unveils its competitive multiplayer modes, the FSL is revving up for its fifth season. The league will transition onto Farming Simulator 22 and resume live on stage at FarmCon 23, which takes place on July 1st & 2nd in Lauingen, Germany. With the robust support of HELM AG, the new main sponsor of the FSL, competing teams have a chance to win a share of a staggering prize pool of 200,000 Euros. To test their farming mettle, interested gamers can register a team at fsl.giants-software.com.
For those who cannot get enough of Farming Simulator 22, a Year 2 Season Pass is available. It includes four packs and an expansion, providing up to 30% savings compared to buying the content separately. Farming Simulator 22 can be played on PC, Mac, PlayStation®5 (PS5™), Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation®4 and Xbox One.
