Munich-based gaming studio, Wolpertinger Games, has officially announced their latest creation, Survivor Mercs, and we’re already on the edge of our seats. This forthcoming addition to the single-player extraction shooter genre, scheduled for a demo showcase during Steam Next Fest from June 16-19, 2023, is primed to take the gaming world by storm.
Survivor Mercs offers players a unique, intense gameplay experience: you’ll be striking against enemies, looting valuable gear, extracting from the battlefield, and gearing up to do it all again. As a commander of a mercenary squad, your objective is simple yet compelling: to survive against an overwhelming onslaught, while amassing as much loot as possible.
With thousands of unique commanders to choose from, Wolpertinger Games has ensured that each run will feel distinct and fresh. Different procedurally generated maps and a host of formidable bosses provide diverse challenges and ample replayability, potentially keeping you occupied for hours on end.
For those that haven’t heard of Wolpertinger Games before, they’re an independent game development studio based in Munich, Germany. Founded in 2009 by Sebastian Bender and Remote Control Productions, the studio has been responsible for over 35 games and gamification projects for major international partners and brands. Survivor Mercs marks the studio’s ambitious attempt to carve out a space for itself in the B2C market, creating games directly for the players.

Sebastian Bender, Boss Wolpertinger and game director, said, “After our whole team sank hundreds of hours into Vampire Survivors and Zero Sievert, we wanted to take the best of both games and blend them into a roguelite that feels like THE logical next step.”
Clearly, this isn’t just a game; it’s a passion project built upon countless hours of experience, designed to give players a top-tier gaming experience. Survivor Mercs aims to deliver on every front, offering an adrenaline-pumping gameplay loop that will leave players coming back for more.
Survivor Mercs is set to be released into Early Access shortly after Steam Next Fest, with a full release planned for PC and consoles in early 2024.

For those eager to get in on the action as soon as possible, the game is now available to be wishlisted on Steam.
