Fairyship Games, the team known for their rich, narrative-driven titles, has just announced their latest project, Testament: The Order of High Human. This brand-new, story-based adventure is a mix of RPG and Metroidvania elements that’s guaranteed to keep you on your toes.
Testament: The Order of High Human isn’t your ordinary video game, it’s set in a post-apocalyptic fantasy world where you’ll take on the role of Aran, king of the High Humans. After a betrayal from his brother, Arva, Aran finds himself stripped of his powers while the land of Tessara gets overtaken by darkness and monstrous creatures. It’s up to you, the players, to restore Aran’s powers, confront the traitorous Arva, and return Tessara to its former glory.
“The best way to describe Testament: The Order of High Human is to say it’s a big melting pot of the best elements from some of the biggest adventure games from the last decade,” Moe Naderi, co-creator and studio co-founder, explains “if you take God of War from 2018, throw in some Elder Scrolls, and a slice of two of Dark Souls for good measure, all played out in first-person, and you’ve got the world of Testament in a nutshell.”
As you venture through the world of Testament, you’ll experience a variety of gameplay elements. From mastering a sword with various combos, handling a magical bow with four arrow types, taking charge of 15 magic abilities, to exploring the unique Eclipse System, Testament offers a robust gaming experience. Moreover, the game motivates players to delve into every corner of the world with a grand XP and upgrade system.
The game doesn’t skimp on the narrative either. Expect strong storytelling with a nonlinear narrative style, enriched by over 40 main and side-quests that contribute to the game’s consistent storytelling. The developers have even thrown in a good helping of platforming action for that extra sprinkle of nostalgic excitement from the good ol’ 2D days.
All this magic has been conjured up by a passionate team of 30 at Fairyship Games over the course of four and a half years. They’re committed to bringing you games with solid gameplay and compelling stories, and it shows with this project. Testament: The Order of High Human’s release dates for PC and console platforms are still under wraps, but we’re definitely keeping our eyes peeled for this one!
The studio’s other major release is Shame Legacy, which launches on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, and Xbox One on May 30, 2023. Testament: The Order of High-Human is available to wishlist on Steam now.
