Spiritle, a four-player turn-based strategy digital board game, has just been announced by the Chinese indie game development studio, Fabled Game Studio, known for their popular roguelike card game Pirates Outlaws, and it’s going to be available on Android, iOS, and PC.
Here’s a peek into the magical world of Spiritle. You get to embody a Spirit representing one of the four elements: Nature, Earth, Water, and Fire. (Pretty cool, right?) Once you’ve selected your Spirit, geared them up with skills and a ring, it’s time to hit the board, open tiles, and reveal new lands. And here’s the best bit, folks – if you manage to pair up two identical lands, you can attack your fellow players. Talk about a thrilling game of strategy and skill!
Each Spirit character brings their unique skills to the battlefield, so choosing the right set of abilities could be your ticket to victory. Spiritle promises to be easy to pick up but difficult to master, with victory awaiting the most cunning strategist. I guess it’s time to put on our thinking caps!
But wait, there’s more! Spiritle offers a variety of game modes, including Classic battle (yes, there’s a leaderboard!), the season-specific Cooperative mode for a bit of 2v2 chaos, and a Custom mode where you can have a private face-off with your friends. Every season introduces a new World Tree, starting with the Earth’s tree of Brutality. As you navigate through each season, you’ll get to play eight Spirit characters on four different seasonal battlefields, each with unique World Tree passives. Phew, sounds like a bundle of fun, doesn’t it?
“Spiritle incorporates core tabletop and experiences into a package that players can pick up and play with anyone”, says Nicholas Lavergne, Game Producer at Fabled Game Studio. “It’s as if chess, Catan and Mario Party gave birth to this charmingly strategic-yet-casual party game. We are so excited to share the game with players across the globe, with cross-platform support across PC and mobile it doesn’t matter where you are to play!”
If you haven’t heard of Fabled Game Studio it’s a nine-person indie game development team based in Shenzhen, China. Established in 2018, the team aims to showcase Chinese creativity in indie game development on a global scale. Their popular roguelike card game, Pirates Outlaws, is available on iOS, Android, and PC and made its console debut in Spring 2023.
Spiritle is currently available to wishlist on the Steam Store.
