Three decades ago, a young sorcerer wrote video game history. The 2D point-and-click adventure Simon the Sorcerer was released in 1993 and has shaped the development of interactive video games for the years to come. To celebrate the 30 year anniversary of the franchise, Leonardo Interactive announced the release of a new Simon the Sorcerer title in 2024.
The game will be a prequel to the events in the original game from 1993, telling the story of an unruly young man who finds himself thrown into a world full of magic.

Simon the Sorcerer Origins will feature beautiful hand-drawn graphics and animations. The title will preserve the characteristic charm of the original game, with a witty and rebellious Simon and sarcastic remarks, while updating the emotional nuance, gameplay features and controls to resemble a more modern game.

Players will be able to choose whether they want to play a classic point-and-click game or a modern version with direct control of the main character Simon. This choice ensures that both player types can enjoy the game in a way that feels best to them. The modern game mode is optimised for all devices.
Another noteworthy feature of the game is the music. The soundtrack of the game will feature a track by the legendary singer-songwriter Rick Astley!
The game will be available for PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch. Stay tuned for updates on Gaming.Buzz!
