Sabotage Studio’s Sea of Stars launched yesterday on PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch.

Sea of Stars | Launch Trailer

Inspired by classic RPGs, Sea of Stars follows the journey of two young Children of the Solstice as they strive to become Solstice Warriors. They have the capabilities to defeat the Fleshmancer and his evil alchemical creations through their Sun and Moon powers. Combining their powers will turn out to be a great source of strength.

Turn-based combat in this game is active, and players can achieve better attacks by pressing buttons in tune with the animations. Players can also hinder enemies from attacking by using different damage types.

The world can be traversed by swimming, vaulting, jumping or scaling the terrain. This challenges platformer expertise and opens up more layers of a level than just the ground tiles.

Sea of Stars has a large variety of different original characters and narrative arcs. The game does not take itself too serious and encounters can be funny and emotional. Themes like friendship and adventure are being explored through the narrative with plenty of unexpected twists and turns.

And if you ever feel like taking a break from adventuring, why not stop by a tavern to listen to a song, go fishing, indulge in some cooking, or play the in-game tabletop game Wheels! There is plenty to do in Sea of Stars and you will not find yourself grinding repetitive game mechanics to increase your chances of winning.

Sea of Stars is visually mastercrafted with magical pixel graphics and a heartfelt story. The game has received critical praise for reimagining classical RPGs with new combat mechanics and creating a world that is worth exploring and falling in love with.
