New Star GP Revs Up Nostalgia: Retro Arcade Racing Returns

BAFTA Award-Winning Developers, New Star Games, Announce Early Access for their Retro-Styled Racing Game

LONDON, UK – In a world filled with state-of-the-art gaming technologies and an abundance of realistic, high-definition graphics, it is increasingly rare to encounter a game that transports you back to the good old days of arcade-style gameplay. Yet, BAFTA award-winning developers New Star Games, known for fan-favourites like New Star Soccer, Retro Goal and Retro Bowl, are pleased to share that they’re bringing the essence of classic 90s arcade racing back with their latest endeavour, New Star GP. Set to enter Steam Early Access soon, with console versions to follow later this year, this game is bound to get your motors running.

This fast-paced, thrill-filled arcade motorsport game promises a stunningly retro aesthetic, bringing players an immersive experience of starting a career in the 80’s and racing through decades of vehicular action. This involves upgrading your vehicle and support team or striving for high scores in Championship Mode either solo or with up to three mates in a split-screen experience.

The game will launch in Early Access with 56 individual races set in both the 80’s and 90’s, providing players with a host of iconic racing venues, including Brisbane, Quebec, and Tokyo. There are plans to expand Career Mode to cover future decades of racing, adding new cars, locations, tracks, and rivals. Championship Mode will present a selection of different championships for both single and multiplayer action, with additional content being added whilst in Early Access.

New Star Games’ founder, Simon Read, expressed his excitement about the game’s launch. He said, “New Star GP is about bringing the excitement of 90s arcade racing bang up-to-date with the deeper gameplay elements that the modern gamer expects. I believe we have succeeded in this aim because the team here has created a thing of pure joy!”

Indeed, the game presents an amalgamation of nostalgic aesthetics and modern-day gameplay dynamics. It is the most ambitious project by New Star Games so far and it aims to improve and evolve with the input from its player community.
