And now, as the saying goes, the eagle has landed – or in this case, the moonshine is about to start flowing through your Xbox and PlayStation.
The game thrusts you into the boots of a young, enterprising moonshiner. Your mission? Carve your path in the tumultuous world of bootlegging. The game isn’t merely about brewing the best moonshine. It’s about crafting an empire under the watchful eyes of the authorities, managing a team of industrious workers, unlocking cutting-edge technologies, and keeping your finances and deliveries in check. It’s about making tough decisions regarding trust and alliances, and did we mention the numerous main missions, engaging side quests, and adrenaline-pumping road events that you’ll face along the way?
What got us all starry-eyed recently was the major update Moonshine Inc. received on February 23, introducing the long-awaited Sandbox mode. Now players can customise their bootlegging adventures to their heart’s content – choose your starting region and capital, and tweak gameplay elements such as Police Alert, production and crafting speeds, and the discoverability of technologies and recipes. The Sandbox mode adds an entirely new level of immersion and personalisation to your moonshining journey.
In Moonshine Inc., you’ll find a surprisingly accurate depiction of the moonshine craft, complete with fermentation and distillation processes that mimic real-life chemistry. Run your operations across five regions, brew over 70 different recipes with 50+ ingredients, and get hands-on experience with 35+ apparatuses. Not to mention, you can choose your ending from three possible successful conclusions or risk it all and face a ‘Game Over’ if the authorities catch you.
Klabater, the brains behind this intoxicating experience, is a Polish indie game developer and publisher. Since its establishment in 2017, the studio has launched 25+ games on PC and consoles. With Moonshine Inc., Klabater continues to showcase its prowess in creating games that resonate with players. It’s worth noting that the game has received mixed reviews on Steam with reports of serious bugs but there don’t appear to have been any reports of these after the latest patch.
