Attention all hunters! The wait is over, and the hunting season has officially begun with the release of Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. Capcom’s critically acclaimed Monster Hunter Rise has shipped over 12 million units, and the new expansion takes players on a journey to the faraway Kingdom where they will experience a new storyline, combat new monsters, and explore new locales, among other exciting features.
The expansion builds upon every aspect of the original game, and players can now master new combat options, conquer the Master Rank quest difficulty, and battle terrifying new monsters inspired by staples of Western horror. This cadre includes the conjoined elemental powerhouse Garangolm, the chilling Fanged Wyvern Lunagaron, and the vampiric Elder Dragon Malzeno.
Hunters will also encounter new monster variants and returning fan-favourites such as Scorned Magnamalo, Espinas, and Shagaru Magala, emerging to challenge hunters in the added Master Rank quest difficulty. Hunters summoned to the Kingdom will learn new Switch Skills for all 14 weapons, allowing a variety of new weapon actions.
Players can now bring two different Switch Skill loadouts and change them on the fly during hunts with the new “Switch Skill Swap.” This added flexibility of choosing which skills are best for any situation allows a practiced hunter to overcome almost any obstacle. Additionally, hunters who find themselves under attack while performing a Switch Skill Swap can also perform a Swap Evade in any direction to avoid danger or reposition for a continued assault.

Researching the behavior of the Three Lords takes hunters across the Kingdom to exciting new and reimagined locales, including the newly unveiled Citadel and the returning Jungle. Players will also unlock Followers as they progress through the story, and can even earn exclusive rewards for completing Follower Quests.
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is now available globally on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4. All post-release content up to Free Title Update 3 (Ver.13) is included, which includes harrowing encounters such as Chaotic Gore Magala. Capcom say information regarding the arrival of future Free Title Updates will be revealed at a later date.
