NACON and Passtech Games, have let us in on the newest addition to the thrilling game Ravenswatch. Yes, you guessed it! It’s none other than Geppetto, the master craftsman from the tale of Pinocchio.
Ravenswatch, for those new to the party, is a cooperative roguelite featuring up to four players. It’s a gaming smorgasbord brimming with tales and legends from across the globe. And trust us, this game isn’t for the faint-hearted. You’ll be battling hordes of the Nightmare, a nefarious entity corrupting the serene world of Reverie. At present, it’s enjoying Early Access on Steam, with the full release slated for 2024 on platforms including PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch™.
The addition of Geppetto in Ravenswatch is quite the game-changer. He marks the seventh fallen hero to join the fold. Bringing along his handy puppet brigade, Geppetto shakes things up with a host of innovative skills. Despite losing an arm, this mad inventor has turned adversity on its head, proving an effective hybrid of close-combat fighter and ranged hero. By summoning puppets to battle on his behalf, Geppetto plays a strategic game, minimizing risk whilst maximizing damage.
But what’s a hero without a weakness? While Geppetto’s inventions keep him at arm’s length from danger, he does have to get close to his puppet henchmen to maintain control. This reliance on his creations can prove a tricky balancing act!
Ravenswatch’s charm lies in its replay value, thanks to procedurally generated environments and meta-progression. The multiple synergies between heroes and the vast variety of upgrades and magical items to unlock are sure to keep you engaged. Expect quests, missions, boss fights, caves to explore, and a cornucopia of loot to help upgrade your character and ward off the Nightmare.
For the most daring gamers, Ravenswatch has 10 difficulty levels. The Early Access version available on Steam currently includes seven playable heroes and the first chapter, with regular updates to follow, including three new heroes and two more chapters before its official 2024 release. By then, there will be 10 playable characters and 3 corrupted regions for you to conquer.
