Many Servers use the TFAR Mod to Simulate radio and proximity chatter in ARMA 3, our servers use the TFAR Beta mod and installing it is easy.
What is TFAR?
TFAR (Task Force Arrowhead Radio) has become a beloved mod among ARMA 3 players looking for a more authentic and immersive military experience. This modification revolutionizes the in-game communication and radio systems, introducing a range of features that simulate real-world radio operations.
With TFAR, players can expect a more realistic range and interference effects, adding an extra layer of challenge and authenticity to their military operations. The mod also offers radio encryption, allowing for secure communication between squad members and adding a strategic element to the gameplay.
One of the standout features of TFAR is the inclusion of different radio types with specific capabilities. Players can choose from a variety of radios, each with its own strengths and limitations, adding depth and realism to their communication strategies. Additionally, TFAR enables the establishment of dedicated radio channels for different squads or teams, facilitating efficient and organized teamwork during missions.
TFAR seamlessly integrates with other popular mods like ACE (Advanced Combat Environment) and ACRE (Advanced Combat Radio Environment), creating a comprehensive and immersive military simulation experience. These combined mods enhance the communication and combat systems, enabling players to engage in highly realistic military operations.
Why use TFAR & Teamspeak over Discord or default in game radios?
TFAR is integrated directly into ARMA 3, meaning it operates within the game environment and is specifically designed for ARMA 3’s mechanics. It allows for easier access to radio communication controls and features without having to switch between external applications. This can streamline the gameplay experience and make communication more seamless.
TFAR also supports the establishment of dedicated radio channels for different squads or teams within ARMA 3. This can facilitate better teamwork and coordination during missions, as players can communicate with specific groups without interfering with others. It encourages proper radio procedures and adds a layer of tactical depth to the gameplay.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I update TFAR?
If there is a TFAR Update you just need to go to Teamspeak’s Options (Alt+P) then select Addons and uninstall the TFAR Plugin. Then just follow the install Guide again to make sure you have the very latest version.
Teamspeak is not picking up my Mic?
If your not seeing the Small Blue icon next to your name light up you might have the wrong mic or Push to Talk enabled in Teamspeak. To check this Go to Teamspeak’s Options and the Capture Menu. Here you can see the Capture Device and if Push to talk is enabled. If these dont help double check if your Mic is muted on the device (Headset or Microphones have a nice red light normally) and that the device is plugged in (Not saying who in the community forgot this one but they usually use a Lego man Avatar)
