I’ve got some fantastic news for those who have been eagerly awaiting the launch of one of the most anticipated indie titles in recent years, Planet of Lana. The wait is finally (almost) over! Thunderful and Wishfully Studios have announced that their cinematic puzzle adventure will be landing on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC via Steam® and the Windows 10 Store on May 23rd. And guess what? It’ll also be available on day one via Xbox Game Pass for subscribers. How cool is that?
Planet of Lana has been making waves in the gaming world, featuring on over 40 “most anticipated” lists from major names like IGN, Gamespot, Eurogamer, Polygon, Kotaku, Rock Paper Shotgun, Time and Game Informer. It’s easy to see why – this game boasts a breathtaking art style, an emotive soundtrack by the D.I.C.E. and BAFTA-nominated composer Takeshi Furukawa, and unique companion-based mechanics.
In case you haven’t heard, Planet of Lana is set on an alien world and follows the story of Lana and her loyal animal companion, Mui. Together, they embark on a daring rescue mission to save Lana’s sister. Prepare to be captivated by the stunning natural landscapes and the touching personal relationship that unfolds between our two protagonists. You’ll also encounter intriguing creatures and dangerous machines as you traverse lush forests, enigmatic caves and arid desert landscapes.
Planet of Lana is much more than just a visual feast – it’s packed with engaging platforming, puzzles and stealth sequences that require players to make the most of the unique companion mechanic connecting Lana and Mui. You’ll have to work together to solve puzzles and evade threats, including the creepy spindle-legged robot menaces that have mysteriously landed on Lana’s planet and the not-so-friendly fauna inhabiting the game’s gorgeous environments.
