Farming Simulator 22 Levels Up: Season 5 Brings eSports to Consoles with a Mighty €200K Prize!
Alright, you green thumbs and gaming gurus, grab your virtual pitchforks and let’s dig in! It’s official: Farming Simulator 22 is taking its official esports league, the Farming Simulator League (FSL), to a whole new level in its fifth season. This major upgrade was announced today by GIANTS Software, the Zurich-based developer and publisher of the game.
Here’s where it gets interesting, folks. With a free game update dropping in June, the new “eSports” section will be introduced in the main menu of Farming Simulator 22. Why does that matter? Well, because now, not only PC players, but also console fans can join the league! That’s right, mates, the FSL is no longer a PC-exclusive affair.
Christian Ammann, the CEO of GIANTS Software, has expressed his delight at this development, saying, “This marks another milestone in the history of our successful endeavours to make virtual farming not only competitive and fun, but professional and inspiring.” We reckon it’s about time, Christian!
Now, gear up for some barn-raising battles, as the fifth season of the FSL commences with FarmCon on the 1st and 2nd of July. Gather your squad, sharpen your virtual shears, and get ready to challenge professional teams in the Arena mode. Sounds like a right laugh, doesn’t it?
And if the thrill of competition isn’t enough, how about a potential €200,000 cash prize? Yes, you read that right, the total prize pool for season 5 is a whopping two hundred thousand Euros! HELM AG, a well-known agricultural company hailing from Germany, has come onboard as the main sponsor for this season, further raising the stakes in this competitive agricultural showdown.
To add even more spice, Farming Simulator 22 is holding an open beta for PC gamers. This will give you lot a chance to test out the new competitive farming modes—Bale Stacking and Arena—before the official launch in June. Arena mode is an upgraded version of the former FSL client, letting two teams of up to three players compete to harvest wheat, press bales and deliver them to their barns as quickly as possible. It’s all about speed, strategy, and of course, a dash of farming flair.
Farming Simulator 22 is currently available for PC, Mac, PlayStation®5 (PS5™), Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation®4, and Xbox One. For more info, check out the official Farming Simulator and FSL websites, and the GIANTS Software press area.
