From the developers of the popular strategy settlement builder Northgard, Dune: Spice Wars is set to release out of early access on the 14th of September 2023.
Dune: Spice Wars is a real-time strategy game set in the famous Dune universe. Players can pick a faction and battle for control over the harsh lands on the desert planet Arrakis. The factions all want access to the most spice, a resource that is of utmost value. Spice can extend lives, expand the mind, and enable interstellar travel. The other factions can be beaten through combat or political intrigues. While traversing the sandy dunes on Arrakis, be aware of the enormous sandworms, who can devour whole troops.
The factions all have different abilities and are suitable for different playstyles. Customisation is possible, offering great control over the game according to player preferences.
Players can choose between conquest mode and multiplayer mode for their game.
In conquest mode, pick one of the major houses and complete unique scenarios to successfully beat all the challenges of the conquest. Houses can be personalised through perks and upgrades, increasing replayability of this mode.
In multiplayer mode, players can choose to cooperate in 2v2 matches or battle up to 4 players in custom matches with customisable parameters and AI players.
With the 1.0 release, Dune: Spice Wars will get a new faction, bringing the number of factions up to 6. House Ecaz is opulent and politically sharp. They value their artworks and prestige, and their prestige grants them great political powers.
