Ahoy, gamers! Are you ready for a refreshing dip in nostalgia? If you’ve been itching for something different, we have some sea-riously exciting news. FuturLab® and Square Enix Collective® have just dropped the anchor on their latest addition to the PowerWash Simulator: The SpongeBob SquarePants Special Pack!
This new expansion, releasing this summer, will have you exploring the iconic locales of Bikini Bottom, kitted out in your very own Bottomite costume, with a marine-styled power washer to boot. SpongeBob fans, we reckon you’re in for a whale of a time.
Priced at £6.49, the SpongeBob SquarePants Special Pack will be available on a vast array of platforms: Steam, Windows, Xbox One, Xbox X|S, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. The pack comes with six original maps featuring classic SpongeBob locations like The Krusty Krab and The Mermalair, and ten new achievements that’ll have you fishing for more.
We’ve been assured by FuturLab’s Co-CEO, James Marsden, that this Special Pack is a tribute to the much-loved original cartoon. From his own words, we know the developers have gone above and beyond to create an experience that SpongeBob fans will appreciate. Their aim? To “do each IP partnership justice” – and from the looks of it, they’re set to deliver just that.
Remember the Tomb Raider and Midgar Special Packs? The positive community response to these previous packs enabled the creators to develop this SpongeBob-themed expansion. Square Enix Collective’s Director of Indie Publishing, Timea Edvi, expressed her excitement about welcoming SpongeBob SquarePants into the PowerWash Simulator world, saying, “This couldn’t have happened without our amazing community of power washing pros.”
Now, there’s a whole new marine mystery in the idyllic Bikini Bottom, and it’s up to you to solve it. Or not. After all, you’re just there to power wash your way to victory. Either way, it’s going to be buckets of fun.
