‘Desert Treasure’ Quest In Old School RuneScape Gets A Sequel After Almost 20 Years

Starting today, Old School RuneScape players can play the quest ‘Desert Treasure II – The Fallen Empire’, which is a sequel to the original quest. After almost two decades in the making, the latest addition features four new boss fights, a highly anticipated follow-up storyline, and of course a bunch of rewards for completing objectives!

The original Desert Treasure quest launched in 2005 and introduced its players to the people of Mahjarrat and their ancient story. The new questline follows on from its predecessor and introduces four new areas with four exciting boss battles. The main goal of the quest is to reach (and potentially open) an ancient vault, which contains great treasures. Opening the vault comes with a great risk, however, and players must decide whether it will be worth it.

Players can gain four new powerful rings to boost their strength, ranged skills, magic, or melee. Additionally, the Virtus Armour and Ancient Sceptre with special combat bonuses can be obtained as part of the quest.

Aside from the new quest, the Old School RuneScape team is looking forward to bringing another skill to the game for the first time in 10 years. Sailing passed the pitching stage and is currently in the refinement stage before players will get a chance to vote on it later this year. More information about the poll can be read on the game’s website.
