Cities: Skylines Checks In with ‘Hotels & Retreats’: Say Hello to Luxury and Fun

Paradox Interactive Concludes the World Tour with the Final Expansion Pack for Beloved City-Builder

Hello gaming enthusiasts! Your favourite city builder, Cities: Skylines, is checking out in style! Paradox Interactive has today launched the final expansion pack, and it’s an absolute game changer. Welcome to the exciting world of “Cities: Skylines – Hotels & Retreats”.

Developed by the ace team at Colossal Order, this mini-expansion lets you not only construct cities but also manage a variety of hotels. How about that for a twist? This expansion is designed to add a dash of vacation vibes and hotel management to the quintessential city-building experience. As of today, you can get your hands on “Hotels & Retreats” on Steam, Epic *, Microsoft Store *, Xbox One *, and PlayStation 4 for a modest suggested retail price of 7.99 USD / 6,69 GBP / 7.99 EUR. The Industrial Evolution, Railroads of Japan, and Brooklyn & Queens Content Creator Packs are also available together in a bundle alongside Hotels & Retreats for 29.99 USD / 24.99 GBP / 29.99 EUR.

“Looking back on the incredible journey of Cities: Skylines, it’s clear to see that it has become more than just a game. It’s a community of passionate and creative individuals who have built intricate and magnificent cities with their own unique visions,” said Mariina Hallikainen, CEO of Colossal Order. “Hotels & Retreats is the last expansion for Cities: Skylines and celebrates its legacy by introducing ways for players to express their creativity.”

The “Hotels & Retreats” expansion celebrates this creative spirit. It allows players to develop luxury accommodations and tourist attractions, kick-starting their hotel chains and unlocking more specialised lodgings.

But it’s not just about hotels, chaps! You can also create tourism supporting structures such as parks, restaurants, playgrounds, and cafès. Plus, choosing the right location for your hotels will be key, as differing locations attract different groups of tourists. To top it all, the expansion comes with five brand new maps (including three European-inspired maps, one tropical, and one temperate map).

Accompanying the expansion are three fantastic Content Creator Packs.

  1. “Industrial Evolution” by Community Creator Samantha “Avanya” Woods brings you a set of buildings spanning different eras of industrial styles.
  2. “Railroads of Japan” by Ryuichi Kaminogi delivers authentic Japanese railroad scenery, complete with stations, trains, buses, and more!
  3. “Brooklyn & Queens” by Prosper offers a variety of medium-rise high-density residential buildings and props to jazz up your city’s façade and rooftops.

And let’s not forget about the new radio stations. You can chill out with the whimsical “Piano Tunes Radio” or get your groove on with the classic “90’s Pop Radio”.

This may be the end of the World Tour for Cities: Skylines, but it’s certainly not the end of the road for the game’s support. Colossal Order plans to continue general support for Cities: Skylines throughout the year.

To celebrate this momentous release, we want to hear from you! What are your thoughts on the “Hotels & Retreats” expansion? What’s been your favourite Cities: Skylines expansion? (Mine is Green Cities). Share your thoughts in the comments section below or over on the Gaming.Buzz Community Discord. Do you think this is a fitting conclusion to the Cities: Skylines World Tour? We’re all ears!

As always, happy gaming!
