Celebrating Eight Years of Survival: ARK Unveils Last Creature on The Island

Studio Wildcard Spices Up ARK: Survival Evolved Anniversary with the Super-sized Rhyniognatha and more!

Hello, avid ARK fans and brave survivors! The eighth anniversary of ARK: Survival Evolved’s release into Steam early access has just passed us by, a milestone marked by an outpouring of creative enthusiasm from its flourishing community. The inhabitants of the game’s expansive, dinosaur-infested island have come together to commemorate the momentous occasion.

Studio Wildcard, ARK’s developer, has been anything but idle during these celebratory times. The studio’s talented art team has been hard at work crafting key art to represent the diverse array of creatures that populate ARK’s world. From the smallest sea dwellers to the most colossal land roamers, this artwork captures the spirit of the game’s vast universe. And that universe shows no signs of stopping its expansion, with ARK: Survival Ascended on deck for this autumn, followed closely by ARK: The Animated Series and ARK 2.

ARK: Survival Evolved – Rhyniognatha Spotlight | Trailer

Last Friday saw a significant addition to the ARK: Survival Evolved ecosystem – the final creature, the Rhyniognatha, has made landfall on The Island and Lost Island. Despite its status as the last addition, the Rhyniognatha is not lacking in impressive features. This super-sized beast has a collection of unique abilities, from secreting rapid-hardening resin to carrying large objects around bases, making it a formidable enhancement to any tribe’s defences.

In another exciting revelation, Studio Wildcard has unveiled the Fasolasuchus, a new creature slated to join the ARK: Survival Ascended roster in Scorched Earth. The powerful and aggressive Fasolasuchus is just the tip of the iceberg, with many more creature additions waiting in the wings.

Studio Wildcard was founded in 2014 by industry veterans Jeremy Stieglitz and Jesse Rapczak. The studio’s mission is to bring AAA quality to ambitious indie titles designed for core gamers. Wildcard’s global team of developers consistently emphasises direct communication with its active community, valuing player feedback and encouraging user-generated content.

That’s the scoop for this week, folks! But the ARK journey is far from over. Keep your eyes peeled for more exciting developments as we delve deeper into the evolving world of ARK.

So, fellow survivors, what are your thoughts on the latest additions to the ARK universe? How are you going to utilise the Rhyniognatha in your tribe’s defence strategy?
