Hey there, gamers! It’s been an exhilarating day at the PlayStation Showcase as Capcom, the seasoned video game developer and publisher, gave us a taste of three upcoming delights. We’ve got our hands full with the grand reveal of Dragon’s Dogma™ 2, the action-packed Street Fighter™ 6, and the intriguing Resident Evil™ 4 VR Mode. So, grab a cuppa, settle in, and let’s go over what we have in store for us!
First off, we’ve got Dragon’s Dogma™ 2, the sequel to the 2012 cult-classic action-RPG that’s sold over 7.2 million units globally and inspired its own Netflix animated series. Now that’s no small feat! This new game was teased as part of the “Dragon’s Dogma 10th Anniversary” celebration, and now we’ve got our first look at this deeply immersive and richly detailed fantasy world, crafted using Capcom’s RE ENGINE.
The sequel sees our hero, the Arisen, start their journey in a subterranean jail, embarking on a quest to slay a dragon. Teaming up with three otherworldly beings known as Pawns, the player navigates the realms of humans and the new beastren race. With the game revolving around player choices, it truly shapes your experience and presents a single-player narrative that’s uniquely yours.
Next up, Street Fighter™ 6 is all set to hit our screens on June 2, 2023. The globally popular brawler is back with a new single-player story mode, World Tour. Engage with 18 legendary Masters like Chun-Li and Ryu, and uncover the true meaning of strength as you explore open-world areas and tailor your personal avatar’s fighting style. This promises to be the next evolution of the Street Fighter series, brimming with fresh game modes.
Last, but definitely not least, we got our first look at the Resident Evil™ 4 VR Mode. Exclusively for PlayStation VR®2, this free DLC brings Leon S. Kennedy’s critically acclaimed survival story even closer. The PlayStation®VR2 Sense controller immerses you in the gameplay like never before, making mechanics such as parrying enemy attacks more intuitive.
