It’s time to put on your spacesuits and fire up your engines because something colossal is coming to our universe! We’ve got some fresh-off-the-press news that’s hotter than a reactor core: ‘The Expanse: A Telltale Series’ has just been announced as an Official Selection for the 22nd Annual Tribeca Festival. That’s right, mates! The narrative game wizards over at Telltale, in collaboration with the award-winning Deck Nine Games, are making a grand comeback since their resurgence, and it’s going to be stellar!
This announcement rockets the much-awaited ‘The Expanse: A Telltale Series’ into the spotlight. The game, set in a richly-woven world of near-future deep space, is a prequel to the popular TV series, ‘The Expanse’, currently available for your binge-watching pleasure on Amazon Prime.
What’s the scoop on gameplay, you ask? Well, as our favourite Beltalowda, Camina Drummer (voiced by none other than Cara Gee, who also portrays Drummer in the TV series), you’ll lead a scavenging crew on a hunt for some mysterious treasure out on the edges of The Belt. You’ll have to negotiate with powerful personalities, quash a bloody mutiny, explore exotic locales beyond The Belt and above all, make tough decisions that’ll determine the fate of The Artemis crew. And trust me, there’s more than just this – new gameplay elements are being introduced that’ll let you take greater control of the action. Excited yet?
Tribeca Festival, renowned for celebrating storytelling in all its beautiful forms – film, TV, VR, games, music, and online work – is the perfect launchpad for this story-rich masterpiece. The festival runs from June 7-18, with the adjacent Digital Tribeca Festival Game showcase on June 9th. Make sure you tune in to catch the all-new gameplay premiere. If you’re lucky enough to bag a ticket, you’ll even have a chance to try out the game hands-on!

“We are thrilled to be a Tribeca Official Selection,” said Stephan Frost, the project’s game director. “The Expanse is an exceptional work of fiction and we at Deck Nine feel honored to have contributed to this universe in the video game medium.”
“From the very start of development, our focus for The Expanse has been on the quality of the narrative and the opportunity to tell an incredible story filled with amazing characters that the player can participate in,” said Telltale CEO Jamie Ottilie. “Being named a Tribeca Festival Official Selection is the ultimate endorsement that we are on the right path, and we are honored to be included.”
We couldn’t be happier for them, this endorsement certainly highlights the exceptional narrative quality that the new Telltale Games and Deck Nine Games are striving to bring to the table. ‘The Expanse: A Telltale Series’ is expected to be released for PC and leading consoles this Summer, 2023. You can already wishlist The Expanse – A Telltale Series on the Epic Game Store *, Playstation Store and the Xbox Game Store *.
